During a four-year study of music and communications at a college in Canada she became acquainted with a pastry which was totally new to her: MUFFINS.
One
taste of this remarkable pastry was enough to make a true believer out of her. After that, muffins were at the top of her list at each meal. She tried nearly every one of the plentiful
variations. From the juicy, apple-cinnamon muffin to the savory corn-flour
muffin. It did not take long before her classmates awarded her the honorary title of "Miss Muffin"®.
Just as pretzels belong to the Schwabians, muffins belong to the Canadians. In Canada one has muffins for breakfast and as a snack between meals. The savory muffins are eaten with "lunch" or "dinner",
with coffee in the afternoon, and as a treat at birthday parties.
Simply put at every opportunity and for any occasion! After completing her exams, "Miss Muffin" returned to Germany, where she missed her muffins. But, she lived up to her nickname,
and soon began to bake muffins each week. The "Muffin obsession" was contagious.
More and more friends, acquaintances and neighbors became interested in muffin baking. This convinced her that we need a German cookbook of muffin recipes. Muffins
enriched her life.
Don't just take her word for it, try
them yourself!
